BULKHEAD DESIGN

 

A bulkhead design methodology has been developed and continuously improved over a period of 18 years through extensive research into the mechanics of bulkhead behaviour, laboratory testing and in situ monitoring of bulkheads at paste fill operations worldwide.

The three-dimensional numerical model allows specification of complex, strain-softening material models to simulate brittle shotcrete behavior, as well as specification of sliding interfaces to represent the shotcrete wall-rock interface.
